In fact, it's more likely that those with Polynesian heritage will have a tattoo than not and it's not considered some taboo subject or something that your elders will look down upon. In fact, all Polynesian tattoos are totally unique and done with inspiration by family, morals, beliefs, and surrounding elements. This is not to say that you cannot get a Polynesian style tattoos done with flash, because they'll still look great, but the real thing is done free hand. Whether you go the tradition route or with flash, Polynesian tattoos are beautiful and really make a statement.
